Free Liverpool-based student newspaper LX News has launched what it claims to be the UK’s first student-focused desktop news ticker.

Free Liverpool-based student newspaper LX News has launched what it claims to be the UK’s first student-focused desktop news ticker.
Coming to a desktop near you
Developed in conjunction with Mioplanet Technologies, the ticker is based on the successful models that have been championed by the BBC and Associated Press Television Network - although LX’s only delivers articles that are relevant for the student audience.

Explaining the thinking behind the launch, Francisco Esteves, the MD of LX News Ltd, said: “Following the success of our print newspaper, we began to shift our focus to our website and how we could facilitate access to our online articles.

“The desktop news ticker does just that, by allowing our readers to keep up-to-date with our articles, without the constant worry of having to check our website.

"I'm also proud to say that LX News is the first student newspaper to commission and launch a student-focused desktop news ticker in the UK, due to our constant drive to set higher standards for ourselves and other student media organisations across the country."

The ticker can be downloaded at www.lxnews.co.uk/ticker.

LX News is published every two weeks during term time and boasts a print run of 10,000
