A book written by Manchester-based Vivid Agenda will hit the News of the World this weekend, before going on general release next month.
Warrior: a true tale of bravery and betrayal in the Iraq War has been written by Vivid Agenda founder John Hunt and the subject of the book Captain Tam Henderson. It follows the tale of Henderson from his upbringing in Glasgow and a violent housing estate in Birmingham, through to a 23-year army career which ended up with him being ‘ruthlessly sacrificed by the establishment.’After a glittering military career Henderson was deployed to fight in the latest Iraq conflict and, in the midst of battle, the chain gun on his Warrior tank malfunctioned and seriously injured a comrade. Henderson was told to take the blame for the incident but refused, leading to a trial at one of Saddam’s Palaces and a discharge. However, rather than accepting the decision he took up the fight with the ministry of defence and arms firms when he returned home, leading to, in publisher parlance, ‘the biggest battle of his life.’ The story will be appearing in the tabloid this Sunday. Hunt, formerly a website manager at the Disability Rights Commission, set up his web, PR and writing outfit in 2007 and has since been working out of the office of Reading Room, his former agency when at the DRC. The firm has another book coming out soon – about rowing across the Indian Ocean – while Warrior is available to buy over the net now. http://vividagenda.com/ http://www.readingroom.com/
