The World Editors Forum, the only network that caters for senior newsroom editors from across the globe, is due to visit UCLan and the Manchester Evening News to illustrate to its members how to successfully integrate print and online news resources.
The two locations have been chosen to finish a whistle-stop tour of the UK, taking place from 3-7 December, which will take in sessions at the BBC, The Times, The FT, The Telegraph and The Guardian. The aim of the tour, apart from swelling the WET’s coffers (it costs 4,900 Euros for members, 5,900 for non-members to participate), is to showcase how some of the UK’s most respected papers have adapted and prospered in the multi-media world. UCLan has been included in the line-up as it partnered Johnston Press to help the publisher roll out a completely integrated newsroom to cater for its 270 print titles and 300 websites. The MEN booked its place amongst such esteemed company due to its ‘fully multimedia platform’ and aggressive drive into the new media arena (as demonstrated by recent developments within MEN Media). Interested parties, with understanding finance departments, can find out more about the study trip at https://www.wan-press.org/ Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
