Just days after collecting the ‘Leisure and Tourism’ gong in the inaugural How-Do Top 100 North West Brands event, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is celebrating netting another brand accolade.
This time round the enduringly popular resort has been named ‘Revitalised Brand of the Year’ at Tuesday night’s Leisure Report Awards. The event, organised by Leisure Report publisher William Reed Business Information, celebrates high achievers in the leisure sector, pitching some of the UK’s biggest brands against one another. BPB’s win shows the destination’s ability to remain in the hearts and minds of the public during a relatively difficult time for the town as a whole - sentiments echoed by Leisure Report’s editor Duncan Rowe, who commented: “Steady investments since the 1990’s totalling more than £25m have drawn new visitors to the venue, which was Britain’s number one tourist attraction again last year. Ranked 11th worldwide in visitor numbers, the Pleasure Beach has proved there is more to Blackpool than a casino. “Blackpool made the headlines for a lot of negative reasons over the past year. It controversially missed out on the ‘supercasino’, and much was made of the city’s need for the regeneration it would bring, but without too much of a fanfare, the Pleasure Beach continued doing what it has done for years.” Pleasure Beach MD Amanda Thompson said of the resort's rewarding week: “This recent spate of awards shows that we are moving the company forward in the right direction as we build for the future.” http://www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com/
