Liverpool ‘craft-brewer’ Cains has released a limited edition bottle of lager with a label designed by Sir Peter Blake, the artist that created the iconic Sgt Pepper album sleeve.
Blake hits the bottle The ‘best of British’ label adorns the brewer’s ‘Cains Finest Lager’ release and marks the start of the firm’s stint as official beer sponsor of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture 08 status.Cains is now set to produce the lager for the duration of 2008 and will sell it nationally through retail outlets and via the company website. Limited edition posters have also been produced with the same Union Jack motif as the bottle itself. The firm’s chief executive Sudarghara Dusanj said of the project: "Sir Peter Blake is one of country's best loved artists and, through his work with the Beatles, has built a strong affiliation with Liverpool. “So we couldn't think of anyone better to create our limited edition 'Best of British' bottle. The final design is truly striking and is the perfect complement to our 'Best of British' activity.” Manchester's Citypress PR is handling the launch of the lager for retained client Cains. www.cains.co.uk Something to add?
