The Creative Industries Development Service has signed up 12 ‘geniuses’ to give free advice to creative firms at this year’s Business North West event.
CIDS, a non-profit organisation that supports the creative sector in Manchester, has selected the geniuses on account of their individual expertise in areas ranging from search engine optimisation, to PR, to branding and advertising. The as yet unnamed brain-boxes can apparently boast successes with businesses such as Royal Mail, Adidas, Astra Zeneca and United Utilities. A spokesperson from the body commented: “(they) will be available to offer advice and insight on how a little creativity can make a big difference to the way you do business, and will be on hand to answer everything you wanted to know about creativity but were afraid to ask. No matter how big or small your business, or how grand your plans, this is a great opportunity to pick the brains of industry experts.” In addition to this CIDS has managed to persuade Clive Grinyer, Orange’s director of design, to deliver a keynote speech on how SME’s can utilise the power of good design to differentiate their products and services. A special business master-class titled ‘creativity and the bottom line’ will also be conducted on the day of Grinyer’s address, 21 November. To book a free session with a genius, or find out more information about the event, email the CIDS teams at iwantacreativegenius@cids.co.uk
