The Chartered Institute of Marketing Lancashire celebrated its 60th anniversary with a special event at UCLan. The centrepiece of the occasion was a talk by Edwin Booth of Booths supermarkets.
A slice of the action at CIM Lancs Booth spoke to more than 100 guests on the recent re-brand of the stores, their quest to source as much local produce as possible (currently 28%) and how he strives to inject his 3000 employees with the same excitement, enthusiasm and love of the brand as he has.He finished by imparting that the human qualities of Booths helped to underpin its success, noting that ‘the value of a smile’ cannot be underestimated. As well as the presentation, delegates were also treated to champagne and a three-tiered birthday cake. Diane Earls, regional director of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, said of the event: 'The visit by Edwin, one of the region's leading business players to celebrate our 60th birthday, was a real testament to just how much The Institute has helped Lancashire business people over the years. “I'd like to thank everyone who has been involved in the branch during this time for all their hard work, to Edwin for agreeing to speak and here's to another 60 years.'
