In a bid to decentralise its working practices and forge closer links with the business community in the North West, the Chartered Institute of Marketing is seeking to recruit regional ‘ambassadors’.
The new pilot scheme will involve individuals from each of the Cheshire, Cumbria, Isle of Man, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside branches working to maintain links with, and organise events for, specific business sectors. These will include education, public relations, membership, tourism, public sector, SMEs and the arts. As a thank you for the work the ambassadors undertake they will receive badges, business cards, emails, expenses, a visit to Moor Hall (the CIM’s national HQ in Berkshire), discounted/free training and 12 months membership. Commenting on the plans for the new scheme, Diane Earles, regional director of the CIM, said; “The principle reason behind this pilot is to put our members first by providing a dedicated team who can meet their needs on a local level. “We also want to innovate, keep things fresh and, perhaps most importantly, make being involved in the Institute fun for those people who work tirelessly for the membership by fulfilling roles on the regional board, local branches and groups in a voluntary capacity.” www.cim.co.uk Something to add?
