Wilson Cooke and Cranfield University will try to determine how and why businesses which use design led innovation can measure its value to business success.
The project is part of the establishment’s new Centre for Competitive Creative Design. Academics want to find out how design-innovations can be used successfully within companies. "The value of design-led innovation is crucial to the success of businesses today and often plays a key role in differentiation, we are very excited about undertaking this research with the Centre for Competitive Creative Design to help businesses gain a better understanding of the value and importance in this area and more importantly help businesses succeed and excel," said Wilson Cooke’s creative director Lee Whittingham. Professor Simon Bolton will be taking the lead on the research and he will focus on undertaking a pilot study of between 100 and 150 businesses. The end result should be a series of tools that companies can use to evaluate and diagnose their own design-led innovation. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
