The former head of sports sponsorship at the Daily Telegraph, James Mann, has joined Manchester sports agency Fuse.
At Fuse, he will rejoin his former Telegraph colleague Mark Dixon who was previously marketing director at the newspaper before he founded Fuse.
Mann Mann joins Fuse Sport as a consultancy director with a brief to engage with sports sponsorship clients and identify opportunities to lever those brands.
In his role at the Daily Telegraph, Mann was responsible for securing sponsorship deals for the Rolex sponsorship of Wimbledon and Toyota’s involvement with Test Match cricket and was part of the paper’s team that signed up the Royal Bank of Scotland as a sponsor of golf and rugby across all online and print Telegraph platforms.
Immediately prior to joining Fuse, Mann was the sales director for the launch of Original 106fm, CanWest's first UK radio initiative. Mann said: “It’s great to be working again for a company such as Fuse. We’re already causing a stir in the market place as we are a unique agency that specialises in both media and sport, and there simply aren’t many of our contemporaries who can boast a similar level of direct experience and expertise.”
