How-Do has learnt that the high-profile group communications director for Littlewoods, David Boardman, is set to leave the Merseyside-based retail giant in the coming weeks.
The exact details of his departure were less than comprehensive at the time of writing. However, a spokesperson for the firm initially confirmed that Boardman was due to vacate his role, and then responded after consultation with the following statement: “David Boardman will be leaving Shop Direct Group following the launch of the Spring Summer 2009 Collection. Boardman: centre “David is returning to his work in consultancy and will be replaced by Ann Bryon.”Bryon is joining from fellow retail behemoth Kingfisher, which owns brands such as B&Q and has sales approaching £10billion. Further details of her background and the timing of her arrival at the firm were unavailable at the time of going to press. Littlewoods, the North West’s top retail brand, hit How-Do’s headlines recently due to the nature of its ongoing relationship with fashion divas/advisors Trinny and Susannah. At the beginning of the year it reported strong growth, with bosses claiming that a credit crunch could even help, rather than hinder, the £2billion business. www.littlewoods.com Something to add?
