Preston event manager, Glasgows, has developed its own administration event management system after deciding that none of the industry standard packages were as flexible as it wanted.
Glasgows’ client base is primarily derived from larger public sector organisations which are able to access the new system remotely. The new system, GEM (Glasgows’ event management) has been trialled for six months on clients including the DTI, Food Standards Agency, Dept of Health and the Home Office.
Ron Glasgow, founder and owner of the company said: “No successful event management company can function efficiently or cost effectively without a comprehensive, up-to-date, IT based event administration system. The new GEM system offers efficient, customer friendly, administration for delegates including event registration, specific needs, accommodation and transport options, and workshop choices to name a few. In addition, password protected accessibility to the database guarantees security and confidentiality for clients and delegates."
The new service handily ties in with the growing focus on delivering more ‘sustainable’ events by providing more services online.
A number of RDAs use Glasgows to manage their events including the NWDA. The company employs over 30 staff in event management activities at its Preston base.
