Events company Glasgows goes a la carte | Print |  Email to a friend
Friday, 06 July 2007
Preston event management company, Glasgows, has launched a new ‘pick and mix’ event support service.

Called ‘Simply Glasgows’, the package is aimed at companies and organisations that might require part of an event support service rather than the whole package.

The majority of Glasgows’ work is currently derived from larger public sector organisations across the UK, including several central Govt departments and RDAs, and to a lesser extent from large corporates.

The company has its operational base and a 3,500 sq m warehouse in Preston to maintain so the new service could provide the company with some useful additional revenues from clients it previously didn’t attract.

Chairman Ron Glasgow, said “Whilst our core service will always be based on providing a total event management package with all the bells and whistles, we have to recognise that, on occasion, this is not what organisations want or need or can even afford.  Many organisations, whether in the private or public sector, have in house event management teams but are required to buy in specific support services.  This could be a stage set, sound and lighting, webpage development or access to an online registration and delegate management service.  Other organisations are simply strapped for cash and have to be very selective on the services they buy in.

"It is a very competitive market place out there and we feel that event management companies must not be too precious about defending an ‘all or nothing’ mentality.  We must try to anticipate and adjust to the needs and requirements of the market place."

The company said it has been trialling ‘Simply Glasgows’ informally for six months and the take up to date has encouraged it to launch the service more formally now.
