Everton FC may have denied that it is set to launch a dedicated TV channel, but the club has confirmed that it is enhancing the services it offers to fans through their mobiles.
In an agreement with Midlands-based mobile and online specialist marketing agency LHM Media, the Toffees have launched the service to open up a new revenue stream and give fans everything from entire games to goal alerts, ring-tones and competitions. Explaining the new proposition to How-Do, Everton’s Mark Rowan said: “we launched the Everton mobile brand back in June 2006, but this agreement allows us a lot more flexibility taking it forward and providing mobile users with the sort of content they’re constantly striving for.” Rowan added that a website to complement the offering would be 'going live soon', while LHM’s Ian Hughes told How-Do that “the new site will be coming online from the start of November.” Hughes also revealed the cost structure of the service, with basic services starting at 25p while entire games will be available for £3. It is believed that Everton’s previous mobile content and call services were handled through an arrangement with The Carphone Warehouse. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
