Hughes drafted in to replace Watson at Manchester City Council |

Manchester City Council has reacted to the news that Janine Watson is vacating her head of press role with the announcement that Roz Hughes will be stepping into the position on a temporary basis.
 Watson: handing over from May Hughes is currently the press officer at New East Manchester, but from 6 May will work alongside Watson, who leaves for Stockport in June, on a month long handover period.Her appointment will be for six months initially, although the post is due to advertised externally as the council seeks a permanent replacement for the CIPR’s ‘North West Public Relations Professional of the Year’ 2006/07. Watson, as reported on How-Do on Monday, will take the role of assistant chief executive with responsibility for communications at Stockport Council. Hughes’ current duties covering New East Manchester and the Manchester City South Partnership will now be handled by the council's press office.
