Birkenhead-based door drop marketing firm LinkDirect has secured its biggest ever contract win, with the news that it has been appointed to deliver 42 million copies of The Phone Book over the next three years.

The firm was selected ahead of competing national rivals and now takes the place of BT's largest directory distributor in the UK, covering 106 of its 168 distribution areas.

The two firms have worked together since 2004, when LinkDirect scored a 12 directory contract, before upping that to 30 directories in 2007.

"This is a hugely important contract for the whole company and proves the value of building a relationship with a customer over time," said operations director Peter Rand.

26 staff are now employed at LinkDirect's Merseyside base, which has built its reputation through leaflet and free newspaper distribution.

The BT contract, carrying with it a seven-figure budget, could be set to lead to further expansion for the business.
