Manchester Central, formerly GMEX/MICC, has won the contract to host Channel 4’s, ‘A Place in the Sun Live’ exhibition at the venue in 2008.
This is the first time the exhibition will be staged in the north. The show currently runs in London and Birmingham and the promoters Brooklands Group, claim the two shows combined are the world’s largest exhibitions of overseas property.
The A Place in the Sun Live exhibition, in association with Moneycorp, will run from 29 February to 2 March 2008.
The Exhibition will use the venue’s Central Hall, which the organisers believe will host hundreds of stands, a main stage with live entertainment and celebrities, two country themed feature areas, a French Pavilion and a full programme of free seminars.
Event organiser, Ken Pritchard from the Brooklands Group said:
“We are very excited about expanding our event and bringing it to Manchester. The scale and quality of the facilities on offer at Manchester Central are exactly what we require and when coupled with the high-level interest in foreign properties in and around the city-region it is the obvious choice for us.”
