Manchester Knowledge Capital and Enterprises seek marketing services suppliers | Print |  Email to a friend
Monday, 18 February 2008
Manchester Knowledge Capital and its accountable body Manchester Enterprises are both seeking marketing services suppliers to form a roster of companies with whom the two bodies can draw off services over the next few years.

Applications must be submitted by this Wednesday 20 at noon.

The bodies would not confirm what the likely budget was but it is expected to be substantial.

Manchester Knowledge Capital and its accountable body Manchester Enterprises are both seeking marketing services suppliers to form a roster of companies with whom the two bodies can draw off services over the next few years.
Suppliers are being sought for five areas of activity: graphic design, PR, events management, copywriting and web development/digital marketing.

Jude Holmes, communications manager with Manchester Knowledge Capital (M:KC) said that no ad agencies were being sought as the bodies presently believe that the other activities provide the best return for them.

M:KC and Manchester Enterprises (ME) are non governmental organisations. The two organisations work closely together.

M:KC’s remit is to support innovation, economic transformation, and knowledge sharing across the Manchester city region. ME is an economic development agency for Greater Manchester. Its remit includes research, developing strategies, implementing policies and commissioning and managing projects.

Holmes stressed that they were keen to hear from suppliers of all sizes. Companies could bid for all the different activities on their own or with partners or go for specific activities on their own.

The suppliers could be based anywhere in the UK said Holmes but “it would be good if they could be based in the region.”

In addition to the two bodies’ changing growth plans over the coming years, Holmes added that tow key projects: Manchester Science City and support of the Innovation Investment Fund (supported by the NWDA, Manchester city council and Nesta) would figure highly on the successful suppliers’ agenda.

Current direct suppliers to the bodies include Idaho and Typo//com while other companies such as IPB and Creative Concern provide services to related Manchester-based public sector bodies.
