Superstar producer, DJ and all-round man of the moment Mark Ronson is set to headline a Vauxhall Corsa branded festival taking place in Liverpool on 10 May.
Corsa driver Ronson The show, at the city’s Carling Academy, operates as an in-door festival and will be branded as ‘Corsa presents Bandstand’.It came about after marketers at the car manufacturer rejected the idea of sponsoring an existing music event and thought ‘let’s create our own.’ They then teamed up with independent record label Sunday Best and Bestival founder and Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank. He in turn helped the team secure big name acts, which - alongside Ronson and a DJ set from himself - include Kissy Sell Out, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, The Cuban Brothers, The Troubadours and Sombrero Sound System. The event has a sister concert, of the same name, taking place in London the weekend before. Ronson told the press that the concerts should be “amazing.” Vauxhall will be using email, direct mail and website marketing to generate interest in the event, with activity also appearing on the Facebook pages of Da Bank and Ronson Tickets for both the London and Liverpool shows cost £25 and are available at the dedicated website www.bandstandevents.co.uk
