The NHS in the North West is looking to source suppliers that can help its various regional trusts and associated public bodies get to grips with exploiting the huge potential of social marketing channels.
The rise of the social marketing medium, and its widening grip on the UK (and regional) population, clearly hasn’t been lost on the NHS, with the result that the NHS North West Collaborative Procurement Hub has now set about initiating a tender process to recruit expert help. This will see the hub, which represents the interests of more than 50 NHS organisations in the region, looking to appoint consultants across a broad range of specialisms. These include PR, design, media buying, media training, direct marketing and market research. Such an interesting and challenging public sector brief - at a time when several industry sources have reported of a ‘drying up’ of private sector funds - will undoubtedly pique the interest of a host of agency protagonists in the region. The procurement hub, which was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Salford, claims to have delivered more than £50m in savings to the organisations it represents since its inception.
