As part of its on-going drive to increase tourism into the North West, the NWDA has launched a push to market Manchester and Liverpool as key destinations for corporate events.
The body is currently publicizing the region at the annual Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) meeting in Seattle, where it is promoting the North West’s unique natural attractions, heritage, geography and, of course, “impressive range of venues.” These include the new Arena and Convention Centre in Liverpool and Manchester’s Central Convention Complex. The NWDA’s marketing chief Peter Mearns said of the new initiative: “England’s Northwest is the premier English region for business tourism outside of London. Manchester and Liverpool are major cities which boast world-class meeting and conference facilities and are both supported by excellent transport links. “They are distinct exciting cities… (and) also provide a gateway for visitors to explore the rest of the Northwest.” www.nwda.co.uk Something to add?
