Over the last month the Chester-based site has seen usage rise by almost 90% as people try and find sports they can do. Marathon Set up by Tim Rogers in 1999 after he became the fastest man to run an official marathon on all 7 continents, it’s also the official online partner to the Flora London Marathon. "The jaw-dropping fact for us is that the site traffic figures are up 89 per cent compared to the same period last year. It is phenomenal and clearly the Olympics has played its part," said Rogers. The most popular requests have been swimming, cycling and sailing. "It’s encouraging lots of people to get off their backsides and try a new sport, which has to be good news for people individually and their families, as well as the nation’s health as a whole. Who knows, one of the people inspired to log onto our site could be a future medal winner themselves." Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
