Phil Redmond, the region’s most powerful and influential media personality, has started the hunt for local people to take part in Liverpool’s Capital of Culture closing ceremony on 10 January.
Redmond: hunting for a cast The plans for the party are currently being kept under wraps, but Redmond, creative director of The Culture Company, and event organisers Walk the Plank have made clear that they want locals to star in what has been named ‘Transition: The People’s Celebration’.Specifically they are looking for one master of ceremonies – a ‘larger than life’ male aged between 30 and 60 – and men and women of all ages to star in a specially commissioned film that will be shown at the ceremony. Filming for this is scheduled to take place next week. On the subject of the MC Redmond was quoted as saying: “We have lots of characters in Liverpool so I know there will be someone perfect out there.” Auditions for the master of ceremonies roll take place on Friday. More details about the openings can be found at http://culture.org.uk We’re not sure if any of these guys will be applying though… Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
