Financial and professional services organisation pro.manchester has succeeded in attracting a stellar line-up of speakers for its forthcoming calendar of events.
The association has booked in Mervyn King, the governor of the Bank of England; Falklands War hero Simon Weston; Mark Covell, the head of external communication for MediaCityUK; John Willman, business editor at the Financial Times; and Sir David Wright, vice chairman of Barclays Capital.
They will be speaking at a series of individual events that run through from February to May (more details at the pro.manchester website).
Daniel Mouawad, the body’s chief executive, commented that the high-profile individuals were all part of pro.manchester’s plans to “shake things up for 2009.”
He added: “We have listened to our members and devised a programme of big name speakers, from a variety of professions, for this year.
“These events are exclusive to our members and we are delighted to have representatives from the private and public sector sharing best practice, personal experience and tips and stimulating debate and discussion among our members.”
