The Northwest Football Awards is due to build on the buzz of its inaugural outing last year with a 2008 event that will be co-hosted by two of the most recognisable footballing experts in the country, Mark Lawrenson and Ray Stubbs.
 Stubbs and Lawro Stubbs, the anchorman of BBC One’s Final Score, is returning for an encore after his hosting duties last year, while Lawrenson has been brought in to support his friend by organiser Out There Events. Last year the awards attracted over 450 guests and it is hoped that this year, given the ever-dynamic milieu and success of the region’s teams, even more luminaries and interested observers will attend.
