The man leading the Share Liverpool FC consortium’s bid to buy LFC has told How-Do they now have over £85m pledged. Meanwhile, Dubai International Capital (DIC) is understood to have added financial PR agency Square 1 to its media consultancy team which already includes Brunswick.
Rogan Taylor, the initiator of Share Liverpool FC said on Friday that over 17,100 people had registered on the site for the ‘Count Me In’ panel which signifies a willingness to explore investment of £5,000 in the consortium’s bid to buy the club in a Barcelona style peoples’ takeover of the club.
DIC thought it had succeeded in its bid for LFC 18 months ago but was ultimately beaten off by the Hicks/Gillette bid which was widely regarded at the time as a much better orchestrated PR campaign
However, in recent months the various relationships between the Americans, Benitez and the fans have gone badly awry.
Taylor concedes his bid faces a myriad of challenges but he said that “until you kick the fence down, you don’t know what’s in the field.”
