Kara Walker and Jennifer Lowe of Salford University were respectively the winner and runner up of the Sure For Women sponsors’ prize at the 19th annual Clear Channel Outdoor Student Awards.
The two advertising design students won their national prizes for their campaigns for women’s deodorant. The brief was to create a campaign based on the strap line 'Incredible protection that works in sync with you'.
Walker said she tried to concentrate on “things that annoy a woman but wouldn’t annoy a man.
“I thought of things that would upset me and get me wound up – like a ladder in my tights or a heel breaking on my shoe.”
Chris Morris, programme leader in the School of Art & Design said: “It’s great that the talent of Kara and Jennifer has been recognised. They fully deserve these awards and both have a great future in advertising ahead of them.”
