The apparently unwitting use of Manchester cathedral as the location for one of Sony’s PlayStation games, a particularly violent one called "Resistance: Fall of Man", has made it nto Fortune magazine’s “101 Dumb Moments in Business" for 2007.
The game went on to sell over one million copies depicting a virtual shoot-out in the cathedral's nave in which hundreds of people are killed.
US magazine Fortune, arguably the world’s best known business magazine, doesn’t give the Japanese electronics concern any slack for claiming to be unaware that permission had not been sought.
The magazine ranked the recall of millions of Chinese toys because of paint fears the ‘dumbest moment in business’ over the year.
