Welcome to the weekly Wrap from How-Do - media news for the North West. The Wrap's guest editor this week is Sean Marley
Firstly I’m going to abuse this position of guest editor and make a personal plea…I’ve just returned from a couple of weeks away and, after taking my mobile for an unplanned swim, I’ve lost my numbers. So if you think you were lucky enough to have been stored on my now defunct old mobile, send me your number please! I’ll share the results of this plea with the How-Do sales team to provide further evidence of the power of this site!
It’s that time of the year when things go a bit quiet. There’s no queue at the Mersey Tunnel, the email inbox is not brimming over as usual and you get an even higher percentage of voicemail when trying to get hold of people.
But the world moves on and it still seems like many a deal has been done by the hungry North West media community. Great to see Liverpool digital firms Mando and Rippleffect announcing their latest ventures. It may just be my imagination but I can’t remember a week on How-Do without a mention from these guys.
Now that the Tall Ships are heading off towards Norway, Liverpool can reflect on what seems to have been a hugely successful weekend. This success was backed up by some great coverage on the local media including unique takes from The Daily Post & Echo and Radio City.
I was also delighted to see the successful return of Manchester produced Dragons Den. The world of television drama is always looking for unique ways to plug deficit finance so maybe I’ll pay Theo and the team a quick visit to see if we can entice some of those millions from them.
Talking of television drama….Lime Pictures is as busy as ever. Hollyoaks is on the crest of a wave and new projects are in production while Conker Media continues to lead the way in unique approaches to short-form content ideas for the future.
Don’t forget to send me those numbers!
Sean Marley is managing director of Lime Pictures
