How-Do weekly wrap - Friday 14 September 2007 - Mark Garner/Planet Confidential | Print |  Email to a friend
Friday, 14 September 2007

Welcome to the weekly Wrap from How-Do - media news for the North West.

The Wrap’s guest editor this week is Mark Garner

Delightful news that Brazen PR has scooped the Comfy Quilts campaign for their new ‘Christmas gadget’ account. Hmm. It turns out to be a talking pillow. This is now high on my list for the trainee wife’s side of the bed, as long as I can program it to whisper ‘lets not spend any money this Christmas, darling’, along with ‘maybe just a flick off the wrist then?’ There is always room for a useful bit of consumerism in my gaff.

Creative Concern has come up with a way of saving those cuddly looking polar bears from extinction. Vegetation as billboards . It’s that flapping butterfly being responsible for the destruction of New Orleans in reverse kind of thing. They are however kidnapping willow trees on Merseyside and bending them into forced labour. The militant arm of ‘trees hurt too’ may be none too happy. This article can be found in the ‘are you fucking serious’ section of this publication.

Aga Campaign! Why didn’t PHD North call me first? The aforementioned trainee missus has just bought one of the buggers. Eight Grand! I bet that Sophie Conran and Jasmine Guinness got theirs for nowt.

Well done young Mr Rix . The sharp suited light sabre wielding one has been promoted to head gaffer of MEN Media. Not a moment too soon. Like myself, Rixie has a background in Gold Mines. Er, I mean sales. I have to admit that we can both tell a few porkies when it comes to reporting figures to the board, as salesmen we can’t help it. Thus if Rixie’s comment on the viewer figures for Channel M is for real (320,000 a week) I will shag a lamppost.
