Welcome to the weekly Wrap from How-Do - media news for the North West. The Wrap's guest editor this week is Michelle Surrell Finding, loving and retaining talent is an ongoing job across all forms of media. No different really to the challenge facing the region, so hats off to the Urbis and Peter Saville for bringing back the Best of Manchester competition. In fact, it would be great to see it replicated across the North West. If the old line about ‘reward the behaviour you want’ is true, then the more we can highlight, showcase and reward great work across the North West, the better. Talent across the region comes in many forms as How-Do celebrates this week. From the music of the Ting Ting’s through to PR gurus at Ampersand and the guys at Driven who came up with the Body World’s stunt at the Great Manchester Run. Whether it’s sport or business I’m always delighted to see the North West sticking it to our London counterparts. So congratulations to Man Utd for their fabulous victory over Chelsea and to Paver Smith for beating London agencies to the Shell brief. What better way to reward exceptional people than to win a pile of trophies, as the Foundry did at the Summit International Creative Awards . Whether you know much about the awards or not, it’s still easy to envy the buzz that the achievement will have sent through the entire business. We felt the same at Bauer Radio in the North West when we came home, arms full of awards from the Sony’s ....sorry, I had to get it in there, simply to reward the behaviour!
