Rumours suggesting McCann Erickson Manchester has won a £4m project from Moben Kitchens have been denied by the agency.
As reported by How-Do on 29 May 2007 , the arrival of new marketing staff at Homeform, the company which also owns Kitchens Direct, Sharps and Dolphin, led to an agency review, the independence of which some observers questioned because Homeform owns BCMB, the ‘incumbent’ agency.
News of the new business win surfaced in London initially. When contacted by How-Do, Richard Pilkington, creative director at Manchester agency BCMB expressed surprise at the news but declined to comment. A spokeswoman at McCanns “categorically denied” the account had moved to McCanns in Prestbury.
The media business with Brilliant was unaffected by the agency review.
