NWDA looks to banish 'outdated perceptions' with tourism PR push

The Northwest Development Agency has initiated the hunt for a PR supplier to work with it over the course of the next 12 months and help market the region as a short break destination, with an emphasis on its outdoor and cultural attractions.

How-Do Awards 2010 - deadline for entries extended to Tues 9 March
The How-Do Awards 2010 are now open for entries with a closing date of Friday 5 March. The awards dinner, which will be held on Thursday 29 April, is moving this year from Old Trafford (MUFC) to a larger venue in the shape of the Palace Hotel in central Manchester.
We were hoping and indeed intending to close for entries on Friday but the number of last minute requests for some additional time to prepare and submit entries, has prompted us to extend the deadline for online entry submissions by 48 hours to close of play on Tuesday 9 March.

Bolotin and Barlow invest in hyperlocal future with Inside the M60

Freelance journalists Louise Bolotin and Nigel Barlow are laying the foundations for a fresh, hyperlocal news service for Manchester that "fills the gaps" left by the contraction of the traditional regional newspaper industry.

Inside the M60, an online only venture, will be launched in time to provide coverage for the upcoming local and national elections.
